The Ultimate Chocolate Peanut Butter Butterfinger Lush Dessert

  • Author: Elina

Description

This Butterfinger Lush Dessert is an irresistible no-bake layered treat that’s both rich and refreshingly light. It starts with a buttery graham cracker crust or soft angel food cake base, followed by layers of creamy sweetened cream cheese, velvety vanilla pudding, and a cloud-like whipped topping. Crushed Butterfinger candy bits add the perfect crunch and a burst of peanut-buttery flavor that ties everything together.

Effortless to prepare and visually stunning, this dessert is perfect for summer celebrations, holiday parties, or anytime you crave something sweet without turning on the oven. Its balanced layers of texture and flavor make it a true crowd-pleaser that disappears fast at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

For the crust:

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

For the cream cheese layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

For the pudding layer:

  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 ½ cups cold milk

For the topping:

  • 1 ½ cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup crushed Butterfinger candy bars

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until well combined. Press into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a crust. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping. Spread the mixture evenly over the crust.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. Let sit for a couple of minutes, then spread over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Spread the remaining 1 ½ cups of whipped topping over the pudding layer.
  5. Sprinkle crushed Butterfinger candy evenly over the top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Crust Options: Swap the graham cracker base for shortbread cookies or vanilla wafers for a different flavor profile.

  • Storage Tip: Chill for at least 4 hours before serving to help the layers set; store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Make-Ahead Friendly: Prepare a day in advance—flavors deepen and meld beautifully overnight.

  • Candy Variations: Try replacing Butterfinger bits with Reese’s Pieces or Heath toffee bits for a fun twist.

  • Serving Suggestion: Garnish with extra crushed Butterfinger pieces or a drizzle of chocolate syrup just before serving.
