Ingredients
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
-
1 cup creamy peanut butter
-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
-
1/2 cup brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 1/4 cups mini chocolate chips, divided
-
1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
-
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease or line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
-
In a medium bowl, mix melted butter and graham cracker crumbs until evenly combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
-
In another bowl, mix together the peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
-
Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the crust.
-
Sprinkle 1 cup of mini chocolate chips and chopped peanuts (if using) over the top of the peanut butter layer.
-
Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over everything.
-
Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips on top.
-
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
-
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing. For cleaner cuts, refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
-
Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
Notes
-
Use room-temperature ingredients for easier mixing
-
For extra chewiness, include rolled oats or shredded coconut
-
Don’t overbake—these bars are best when slightly underdone in the center
-
Add ganache or caramel topping for an extra layer of decadence
